Richardson Out, Finally

This just in: Bill Richardson is dropping out of the race for president. Unfortunately, he’s still in the race for VP or a cabinet position.

I’ll admit, I thought his experience would have made him a good president at first. Then he proceeded to remind me of it at every turn. Here’s a tip for fledgling politicians everywhere: you don’t win by answering every debate question with how awesome you are. He started out solid by stressing his resume, and then became shrill and annoying by stressing his resume.

Richardson response template: “That’s a good question. By the way, I’ve been ___. I’ve done ___. I even saved ___’s life. Seriously, I rock. Why won’t you vote for me? And Hillary, don’t forget about me when you become prez.”

Now if only Edwards would drop out, pledge his support to Obama and run as his VP. I’d be more than happy to watch them tag-team Hillary in another debate, though.
